My first attempt at photo-restoration. This image came from one of those tiny "scopes" where they would take the picture on a half-frame color transparency, and then put it into the back of a little plastic case, so when you look into the hole, you can see your picture. A cute idea from the time before digital imaging.
The slide had faded... it was mostly blue, despite my attempts at color correction. I think I just might have to make it black and white... I color balanced off the grey shirt on the guy second from the right. Apparently, his shirt wasn't exactly grey.
On a side note, my dad (man on the right) says that he got together with this same group of guys, on the same golf course in the recent past (within the last 3 years or so) and they took this same picture again. Which I think is pretty cool. Anyway, Dad wanted me to find a way to digitize this and possibly blow it up from the little half frame slide it is.
I photographed this slide at 1:1 with a 60mm Nikon Micro lens. The slide was back lit with a light table. Hopefully it's good enough quality to get a decent print.
