Humming Along

I just finished writing an email to my Aunt about the new camera. I took a moment to pause and look out the window, and saw the humming bird flying around, thinking about going to the feeder. I grabbed my camera, rushed downstairs, sat down on the front walkway and waited for the hungry little bird to enter my frame. It did. I snapped. How cool is that?!

Rick and Martie Married!

Talk about a fun night! Martie was my lacrosse coach in high school, and I was honored to be asked to photograph her wedding. It was a simple, beautiful outdoor wedding at the Hobbits Glen Golf Course in Columbia, MD.

Martie and Rick wrote their own vows. It was so wonderful to hear two people share their love for each other in their own, personal way.

The Kiss.

 What a gorgeous family!
 BESTIES!

I had to steal these chairs from another group of people enjoying the sunset. Luckily they didn't mind too much when they heard that they were giving up their seats [temporarily] for a newly married couple. I think this is my favorite picture from the night!
And this is my other favorite picture. As I was photographing the cake, I saw Martie dancing into the frame towards her friends, and I managed to capture that as the background here.
He gave the most wonderful speech. I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd.
 Time to dance!
Not sure what happened here, but I thought the photo was adorable!
 Mother of the bride.
 The standard "late-night-party-shot"

Stealing a moment before the cake cutting.
 Let them eat cake!

 And dance the night away!

Such a fun night! I had such a great time, and I'm glad I got to capture the event on film for everyone to see!

Ryan and Anne

I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked at this wedding... I was in it. But of the pictures I did take, these are my favorites!

Getting ready, I told Anne her hair looked like a sculpture - am I wrong?! I think not.
I learned some great make-up tricks from this woman. Now I know the REAL way to apply eyeliner!

 What a beautiful bride.

And what's a bride without her flower girl?
Dad started a family tradition the years Ryan and I were born. He bought a bottle of wine in each of our birth years, to be opened on our wedding day. Nothing like a 1985.
While cake wasn't served at the wedding (Tiramisu instead!), Anne's brother made her a beautiful wedding cake!

Ted, one of the groomsmen made the most beautiful speech. Everyone cried.

Something was uttered about Mom's favorite child, and they both turned around to look at me.
What a beautiful day!

And remember, no need to wait for that first million for that first baby! Congratulations Ryan and Anne! March 31st was a day to remember!

Life as I know It

And this, is the new chapter of my life. Real estate photography. I can't seem to find the words to express my excitement for this. I get to drive around my hometown, talking to the elite members of the District society,  photographing their "cribs," and as a result of all this, simply enjoying myself.

I'll get to dance more often, see the friends I've missed for so long, and make trips to New York a priority. I'm thrilled for the change, and cannot wait to get started!
