Meet Marian

Mar and I went to high school together. It's funny that even though we live so close together now (our buildings are across the street from each other! How serendipitous after all these years!) we still don't really get to see one another as often as we'd like. I wanted to take some pictures of her, simply because she's so pretty. This one is one of my favorites from our little photo shoot - there's just something striking about it. Humble, casual, joyful, relaxed. I guess it's a reflection of the moment.

Meet Dana Scott Galloway

I love shooting head shots. Dane was great to work with, for not only was he super fun, but he already knew exactly what face he wanted, what clothes he would wear, and an idea for the background... he really made my decision making easy. Lighting was pretty simple, we used a white seamless and a soft box for the first half of the shoot, and then a black backdrop (purposely unlit) with two soft boxes (one in front and one behind for the separation in the jacket) for the second half. I edited this particular shot to look a bit like a movie poster... I was simply having fun, and I liked the outcome.
