She's Gorgeous!

We had to shoot a diptych. I had this original brilliant idea of shooting things that hold the human body together when it cant hold itself...such as thread, screws, staples etc, and i wanted to show them in casual everyday manor. (If you look at a screw in a bone on an x-ray, it really just looks like a screw that the surgeon picked up at the hardware store on the way to work that day.) Anyway, I flat out didn't put the thought into the idea, and I decided to re-shoot after a discussion with my professor. This is a project that i think will take a lot more time than i had anticipated, so I'm going to ask around and see what I can do about finding specific people and objects that I'm looking for. My professor (and class in crit) suggested finding actual bone replacements, like an artificial knee or hip. They are the strangest looking things and make wonderful still life material, especially if they are lit well. so I'm hopefully going to find somewhere where i can get my hands on one of them...but seeing in how the price tag for one of those is a little expensive (several thousand dollars, from what I understand) it's a bit out of the price range for right now. But maybe if I get the opportunity to sketch my way into the OR...

I completely changed my idea for the re-shoot I decided to go with the before and after of adding make up and nice lighting. We have a fashion shoot coming up soon, and I wanted to practice for that. So I pulled an all-nighter on Tuesday night, and re-shot this. (The hair and make up took forever!!!) These two pictures are the ones that I was the most happy with. I had another model as well, and I shot her first, but i didn't like the makeup job...don't ever trust me to paint on your face. But I loved the second image. Her confidence just radiates. She's Gorgeous!!!!
