Making a Microscope

Two more images here. The first was taken with a tungsten setting while the other was a flash exposure. You will notice that the long exposure image (the first one) is more blurry than the second - that was caused by the camera shake and possibly the fan within the microscope system. Both images are human lung cells, and both were captured using a makeshift microscope. Everyone in class had to make the microscope they used to shoot for this assignment. We had a few general parts and from there we had to place everything correctly in order to produce a circular micrograph. Easier said than done... I'm glad we had to do this in partners.

So one thing you will notice in both of them is that they are both incredibly dirty. We were using a DSLR to capture the images, only it didn't have a lens. So, naturally, dust and dirt from all over the lab made its way into the camera sensor resulting in VERY dirty images. The dirt really bothers me, and I can't wait to use a real microscope where the dirt factor is significantly lower.
