We got to shoot externals for this ophthalmic assignment! We had to use a plethora of flash systems and cameras in order to achieve all the lighting scenarios required. It was a fun time... actually for the shot after this one (hand-held with a mask) we nearly set the room on fire... well we thought we were going to set the room on fire because the heat from the flash was making our paper mask smoke... and when we took the mask off the light there were carbon marks on the underside. It was rather entertaining!!!
I don't think I can actually turn this in. While I love the sharpness, the specular highlight needed to be within the pupil. In this image, my specular highlight is touching the iris... which I don't believe is perfect technique from what I've been told. But I really liked the picture and thought maybe the world might like it too.
